Model A Radiators

We have spent twenty years making our Ford Model A Radiators the most authentic looking and best cooling on the market.  We use copper fins, brass tanks, galvanized steel sidewalls, internal brass overflow baffles and steel shell mounting brackets. Each radiator is painted flat black just like the original.

6 or 10 fins per inch?
Henry Ford used 6 fins per inch in his radiator core.  If your going to show your car you'll likely opt for 6 fins per inch but if you're an active driver, trade-up to 10 fins per inch and you'll enjoy 40% more surface area for cooling.  As engine compression increased and the engines began to heat up, fins were added to increase the surface area. Increasing surface area helps transfer the heat from the water to the fin and the fin to the air.

Keep your cool under pressure
The Brassworks will pressurize your system with an optional pressure cap neck located out of site beneath the hood.  For every pound of pressure your raise the boiling point of water by 3 degrees. With our recommended 4psi cap your boiling point climbs to 224 degrees. With a blocked off filler neck on top and an underhood pressure cap (invisible to the public) your Model A will look authentic outside and keep the engine cool inside.  It is an added sense of security whether in a slow moving parade or creeping up a long uphill grade when touring.  A great addition for cars with overhead valve conversions or higher compression heads.

1928-1929 Model A Radiators

Our 1928 and 1929 Model A and Model AA truck reproduction radiators mimic the original top tanks, sidewalls, cowl rod bracket, inlets and outlets even down to the electric wire tabs and hood mount tabs. Each radiator is tested with an original Ford shell to assure general fit, appropriate neck placement and accurate mounting bracket placement. Model A radiators are available in the original round tube core or more modern and efficient flat tube core and each is available in 6 or 10 fins per inch.

Also available in pressurized system.

1930-1931 Model A Radiator

Our 1930 and 1931 Model A and Model AA truck reproduction radiators mimic the original top tanks, sidewalls, cowl rod bracket, inlets and outlets even down to the electric wire tabs and hood mount tabs. Our radiators are available in the original, more efficient flat tube core and are available with 6 or 10 fins per inch. With 10 fins per inch you have a 40% increase in the cooling surface area reducing your chances of overheating on tour, parade or a long uphill grade.

Price: $595 for flat tube

The 30-31 radiators may also be purchased with a discreet pressurized system for increased security.

Ford began to "dimple" the front face of the radiator fins in 1930 and our 6 fins per inch Model A Radiators have the same dimple pattern today making them the most authentic reproduction available. The dimpling process tumbles the air and minimizes the impact of Laminar Flow Theory. Air has viscosity and by disrupting the boundary layer with dimples we improve cooling. To be show-ready with your 1930-1931 Model A Radiator choose our 6 fins per inch hand-dimpled radiator.

Price: $650 for 6 fins per inch with hand-dimpled fins.

The 30-31 AA commercial truck radiator cannot be used in a car or car based pick-up truck due to potential fan interference.

Price: $725
