This radiator is a drop in replacement for AA-8005-B for production from June 1930 until the end.  It has a deeper shell and set-up for the OE engine in its production year.  It has been called the "high efficiency" radiator or "modern" core principally because it has 10 fins per vertical inch; a gain of 40% surface area and a highly elliptical tube shape.  This tube design provides equal volumetric throughput but increases tube surface area by 293% thus requiring fewer tubes and still achieving better heat exchange.  Other features include a deep drawn tank with an OE stamp pattern, a deeper stay-rod bracket, electric wire tabs, galvanized steel sidewalls, and riveted brackets for a longer life.

If you have modified or altered your vehicle in anyway, please order from the bespoke radiator section.  If you wish to restore your OE radiator using your OE tanks, brackets and/or castings please visit the restoration section of our website to begin the process.

Features of the 1930 and 1931 Model AA Commercial Truck radiators include:

  • Copper core design with 10 fins per inch
  • Embossed louvers between tubes to disrupt air flow & facilitate heat exchange
  • 3/4" seamless weld tubes in a staggered array to disrupt airflow laterally
  • Brass top tanks with correct production year die stampings
  • Galvanized steel sidewalls to resist rust
  • Brackets riveted to the sidewall
  • Sidewalls available with relief like OE (upon request)
  • Cast stay-rod bracket with deeper AA length
  • Baffle in top tank to prevent coolant loss in non pressure system
  • Correct angle on lower outlet for hose connection
  • Electric wire tabs soldered to lower tank
  • Painted flat black to aid in heat exchange

Made in the USA (and made with 99.99% North American sourced materials!)

Brass/Black Model Ts

Our longstanding foundry (supplier) closed and all production was shifted to a neighboring foundry.  Apparently many of the closed foundry's workers were ineligible for rehire by the new foundry due to more aggressive immigration enforcement and the union has no employees to provide.  As of 2-20-25, we should receive castings in March 2025 and can resume production then.

In the interim, we have been working with our one-off foundry to have pattern boxes made and these are trickling in in smaller batches and we will produce what we can.

Model As 5-6 weeks

Heater cores ~6 weeks

Model A and 32 Ford Street rods 6 weeks

Common street rods ~12-15 weeks

Tricky customs & complicated restorations ~16 weeks months

We appreciate your patience as we continue to recruit and train new fabricators and manage the labor shortfall our country has been experiencing.
