Pie Shaped overflow tank 1928-1929 Ford

28-29 pie OT-driver

Regular price $149.99

We designed this pie-shaped overflow tank to nest against the sidewall and fit inside the scallop of the 1928-29 Ford Model A Radiator shell.

Why?

Because when you oversize your fan you may interfere with the standard overflow tank placement.  This 1.3 pint solution mounts between the upper ear and lower bracket and fully utilized the shape of the shell to maximize the volume of coolant.  Please designate which side of the radiator e.g. driver or passenger when ordering. Made in America.

Where does it go and how does it work?

Our discreet pie-shaped overflow tank nests between the radiator sidewall and the shell.  It’s unique  shape follows the shell’s contour  to maximizes the fluid capacity and the flat black color helps it blend into the engine compartment.   Should the system pressure exceed the cap’s rating, the spring will compress and fluid will flow through the upper tube to fill the chamber.

In the event the recovery tank reaches ~1.3 pint capacity, the fluid will find the second tube and exit to the street.  A vacuum will draw the coolant back into the cooling system as the engine cools down.

Aftermarket radiators

When we sell one after the fact or for another manufacturer's radiator we will ship out two tabs that should be riveted or screwed to the sidewall and then our tank will be mounted to that.  You must have 1/2" below the the upper bracket and 1" above the lower brackets.  Aftermarket radiator that do not match Ford's dimensions may not work with this overflow tank.

We make to order. Please allow adequate time for us to build.

Brass/Black Model Ts

Our longstanding foundry (supplier) closed and all production was shifted to a neighboring foundry.  Apparently many of the closed foundry's workers were ineligible for rehire by the new foundry due to more aggressive immigration enforcement and the union has no employees to provide.  As of 2-20-25, we should receive castings in March 2025 and can resume production then.

In the interim, we have been working with our one-off foundry to have pattern boxes made and these are trickling in in smaller batches and we will produce what we can.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to recruit and train new fabricators and manage the labor shortfall our country has been experiencing.
