Skip to content1936 Ford commercial truck
The 1 1/2 tons with a 131" wb or 157" wb, simply called 'Trucks' or "Big Trucks'. It is not the same ans the 1/2 ton "Commercial Car" radiators.
This radiator is intended as a drop in replacement for the 1936 Ford 1.5 ton commercial truck [51-8005] produced in Dearborn, MI or Green Island, NY or Long, Modine or McCord supplied radiators. It is set-up for the flathead engine in its production year and includes the fan relief in the top header/rear of tank and the lower hose connection castings are formed metal and angle down. Please indicate if you would like formed tube, use of your OE castings or newly re-casting pieces when ordering. The tank will permit crank passage but a formed tank and bar for crank relief are only done on request.
If you have modified or altered your vehicle in anyway, please order from the bespoke radiator section. If you wish to restore your OE radiator using your OE tanks, brackets and/or castings please visit the restoration section of our website to begin the process.
1936 and 1935 Ford truck shells are often interchanged but they have design differences. The most obvious is the shell side section depth. 1936 is ~8" and 1935 is 6 1/2".
Made in the USA
We make to order. Please allow adequate time for us to build.
Build time estimates [Feb 2025]
Brass/Black Model Ts
Our longstanding foundry (supplier) closed and all production was shifted to a neighboring foundry. Apparently many of the closed foundry's workers were ineligible for rehire by the new foundry due to more aggressive immigration enforcement and the union has no employees to provide. As of 2-20-25, we should receive castings in March 2025 and can resume production then.
In the interim, we have been working with our one-off foundry to have pattern boxes made and these are trickling in in smaller batches and we will produce what we can.
Model As 5-6 weeks
Heater cores ~6 weeks
Model A and 32 Ford Street rods 6 weeks
Common street rods ~12-15 weeks
Tricky customs & complicated restorations ~16 weeks months
We appreciate your patience as we continue to recruit and train new fabricators and manage the labor shortfall our country has been experiencing.
